Tom and Carol Lance Endowment Scholarship

The Tom and Carol Lance Endowment Scholarship was created to honor a lifetime of faithful service and to invest in the next generation of church leaders.

For more than five decades, Tom and Carol Lance have faithfully served The Grove Community Church in a wide range of ministry roles. Tom served as Youth Pastor, Executive Pastor, Senior Pastor, and now Pastor Emeritus. Carol served in roles including Women’s Director, Director of Pastoral Support, and now continues to serve through Small Groups ministry. Together, they have played an instrumental role in shaping the spiritual life and leadership culture of The Grove.

Today, although retired from full-time ministry, Tom and Carol continue to serve faithfully as part of our church family. Their lives reflect a deep love for Jesus, a commitment to the local church, and a passion for helping others grow in their calling.

One of the defining marks of their ministry has been their investment in developing future pastors, ministry leaders, and church workers. Over the years, hundreds of individuals have been encouraged, trained, and sent into ministry through their influence, guidance, and care.

As the Church faces a growing need for faithful and well-trained leaders, this endowment exists to remove financial barriers and provide solid biblical training for students from The Grove who are pursuing a call into local church ministry.

In partnership with California Baptist University, the Tom and Carol Lance Endowment Scholarship supports students who desire to serve Christ through the local church and be equipped for a lifetime of faithful ministry.
