To my Grove family,
Weekend Message Pastor Joe Hobbs will be bringing a message this weekend titled, “Are You Willing to Trade the Pursuit of the American Dream for a World That Desperately Needs Christ?” He will be sharing some of the exciting things The Grove is doing to reach out to our community and around the world. Outreach is part of our DNA at The Grove and this weekend you will learn why. You can prepare in advance by reading John 3:16, Matthew 22:37-39, Ephesians 2:11-12, Matthew 16:25, and Matthew 19:29. If you arrive 10 minutes before the start of the service you will get to see some powerful video stories that will prepare you for the service. Arrive early for the full experience.
National Day of Prayer The National Day of Prayer is soon approaching. Next Thursday, May 3, our Nation will pause collectively to pray. I encourage you to find a way to join with others in our community on that day. There is nothing more powerful than when we pray together. There are two opportunities I would like to make you aware of:
A National Day of Prayer Breakfast is scheduled at Teen Challenge Benedict Castle from 6:30-8:30 am. in which city officials, pastors, and local business leaders are invited and the keynote speaker will be Senior Deputy District Attorney Gerry Lopez. Wind of the Spirit Worship Center at 6476 Streeter Avenue in Riverside will be hosting a National Day of Prayer Community Service on Thursday from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Carol and I will be attending this event.
Annual Business Meeting The Annual Business Meeting for The Grove Community Church is scheduled for Sunday, May 20 at 4:00 p.m. in the Chapel. That entire weekend after the services our official members will be voting on the proposed changes to The Grove’s Constitution and Bylaws. This proposal can be found on our website at http://www.thegrove.cc/proposal.pdf or you can pick up the information this weekend from the either Welcome Counter in the lobby. If you have questions about this proposal just contact Bob Ellis at This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it .
