Welcome to the Outreach Ministries at The Grove...
We desire to develop in our people God’s heart for ALL people. It’s simply about CHANGE. When He called each of us, He truly Changed us. When we serve and love others, we continue to BE Changed. And when we go into our community and world with the good news, we are constantly bringing forth Change in people’s lives and for the kingdom. It is with this vision that we minister both locally and globally through our core value of Outreach.

GLOBAL...
In our Global Outreach Ministries, we like to say that we’re “doing a 360”. By turning all the way around, we can catch a glimpse of God’s global plan to the very ends of the earth—that every tongue, tribe and nation would follow Christ. We desire to look 360 degrees around our world and get a full-circle picture of God’s activity in bringing His kingdom here on earth. Our current “360” issues are befriending international students, reaching our adopted unreached people group with the gospel, and meeting the needs of children at risk in Uganda. (learn more here)

LOCAL...
When you “do a 180” you’ve completely changed your perspective, you see things differently, you’re starting on a new path. For us, to turn 180 degrees around means seeing what’s right behind you, in your own backyard, the community of Riverside. It’s sometimes easy to forget that when Jesus called us to “go into all the world”, he also meant to go across the street to our neighbors, or to go downtown among the homeless. Our current “180” issues are caring for foster children, empowering the poor, and reaching out in our own neighborhoods—our personal mission fields. (learn more here)

VALUES...
As we go, both locally and globally, we choose to operate in some distinct and significant ways in all that we do.
We are Learners: acknowledging that God is already at work and we are merely partnering with Him and His people wherever we go.
We are Focused: seeking deep-rooted change in a few communities rather than spreading ourselves too wide and too thin
We are Listeners: asking humbly, “what do you need,” instead of imposing what we think is needed
We are Partners: desiring relationships over business transactions, knowing that working in unity produces greater impact for God’s Kingdom
We are Empowering: choosing not to do “for” people but to do “with” people, thereby bridging the gap between Giver and Receiver
We are Strategic: implementing proven and effective models for spreading the good news so that our dollars, time, and resources are optimized
We are Relational: remembering that Christ ministered more often by being rather than doing
We are Reproducing: working towards a continual multiplication of God’s people through discipleship and church planting movements
