We live in a world that tells us it is insensitive and rude to talk about our religious beliefs with other people. “Nobody wants to hear about your religion, and it’s arrogant to think that they do,” these same voices say.
On the other hand, we serve a risen Savior that tells us we need to be like a light shining on a hill for all to see; that we must stand ready to give an answer to anyone that would ask about our reason for hope and joyfulness. How are we to reconcile these conflicting messages?
Clearly we need to place a high priority on following Jesus' instructions. Pastor Tom always says that we need to tell our story.
The Telling the Story class is one resource we have available at The Grove to help you become equipped and prepared to share your faith in a world that is often skeptical, and sometimes even hostile. In this class we will look at our cultural starting point, examine the reasons that evangelism is scary, show you how to develop and share your own personal story, and we will recognize the power of prayer and affirm the great need for authenticity and personal integrity. There are also many other pertinent topics. This class is offered periodically as an Adult Ed elective. Please view the Adult Ed class schedule to see the next scheduled class.
If you would like to talk about evangelism with one of our pastors, please call Pastor Mike Barnes at 951-571-9090 x2125.
